On Friday, July 18, 2025, the Kano State Judicial Service Commission (JSC), during its 84th meeting, approved the demotion of Mr. Adamu Salisu, a court registrar at High Court No. 13, from Grade Level 13 to Grade Level 12 for forgery and falsification of affidavits of service. Mr. Baba Jibo-Ibrahim, spokesperson for the Kano State Judiciary, announced in a statement that Salisu, who admitted to forging a bailiff’s signature and unlawfully signing documents as a Commissioner for Oaths, was removed from his registrar position and issued a stern warning against further unethical conduct, with the threat of criminal prosecution for non-compliance. The JSC also demoted Mr. Yusuf Ayuba, a clerical assistant at High Court No. 8, Miller Road, from Grade Level 5 to Grade Level 4 for a four-month unauthorized absence, following an investigation by the Judiciary Public Complaints Committee (JPCC). Jibo-Ibrahim emphasized that these sanctions reflect the JSC’s commitment to enforcing discipline, accountability, and professional ethics across the judiciary, aiming to deter misconduct and curb absenteeism among staff.
