On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the Isi-Uzo Local Government Traditional Rulers Council, led by HRH Engr. Okey Ogbodo, commended Enugu State Governor Dr. Peter Mbah and Council Chairman Barr. Obiora Obeagu for significant security improvements in Isi-Uzo LGA during a solidarity visit to Obeagu at the council headquarters in Ikem. The royal fathers highlighted Mbah’s interventions, including deploying over 100 joint security personnel, constructing the 21.7km Agape-Agu Mgbuji-Ogbete Road, and initiating an 11.5km Aguamede road to enhance security response, alongside ongoing farm estate and Produce City projects to boost economic growth. They condemned a recent attack in Eha-Amufu that killed several people weeks ago, calling it an anomaly given the administration’s efforts, which have eliminated Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Isi-Uzo since Mbah’s 2023 inauguration.
Igwe Ogbodo praised Obeagu’s frontline leadership in security operations, while Igwe Pius Nnamani noted his tireless efforts despite challenges like internal sabotage, poor communication networks, and bad roads, which Mbah is addressing through infrastructure and telecom investments. Obeagu thanked the traditional rulers for their support, crediting Mbah’s proactive measures, including plans to connect Ikpakpara-Aguamede to Ikem-Nkwo for faster security access, and vowed to continue partnering with the governor to ensure safety and development. The council’s statement aligns with X posts from July 16–19, 2025, by @DanNwomeh, @Romerosignature, @DokunOjomo, and @Coal_City, reporting community relief over Mbah’s deployment of surveillance helicopters in Eha-Amufu to curb criminal activity, reinforcing the narrative of improved security.
