Warri Urhobo APC Holds Unity Meeting, Adopts Leadership Council

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, Warri Urhobo members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), comprising both legacy APC and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members controlling over six of the 12 wards in Warri South Local Government Area, convened a unity meeting at Peggy Hotel, Warri, Delta State. The well-attended meeting, hosted by Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, adopted an eight-man Leadership Council with Okumagba elected as Chairman/Leader and Chief Isreal Abido as Vice Chairman/Deputy Leader. Other council members include Chief (Hon) Benson Obire, Rev. David Otofia, Chief Vincent Okudolor, Chief Victor Okumagba, Chief Mark Ikpuri, and Hon. Matthew Opuoru.

The meeting passed resolutions reaffirming commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, urging members to unite in protecting Warri Urhobo interests. The Leadership Council pledged to secure equitable representation for Warri Urhobo in party congresses and ensure fair allocation of resources at Warri South LGA, Delta South Senatorial District, Delta State, and federal levels. Notable attendees included Chief Peter Agiri, Chief Westham Adehor, Hon. Gabriel Okandeji, Chief (Mrs) Ann Gagiyovwe, and over 50 others, reflecting strong community engagement. The meeting aligns with recent Warri Urhobo APC gatherings, such as the May 3, 2025, meeting hosted by Okumagba, which passed a vote of confidence in Tinubu, Oborevwori, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, and Obire for their governance strides.
