ENUGU – On Sunday, August 11, 2025, the Uzo-Uwani Police Association (UPA), led by Chairman Mr. Elijah Dozie, alongside community groups like the Nkpologu Welfare Association and Uvuru Timber Union, commended Hon. Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu, Executive Chairman of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, for his transformative efforts in enhancing security and infrastructure, during a courtesy visit to his Amidi Nkpologu home, as reported by Independent Reporter and Enugu Press. Dozie and former UPA Chairman Dr. Paul Obodo praised Ezugwu’s proactive measures, including grading rural roads, which reduced insecurity by improving access for security patrols, notably in Adani and Nkpologu, where kidnapping incidents dropped by 30% in 2025, per local police data. The UPA passed a vote of confidence in Ezugwu, citing his empowerment of over 450 youths and inclusive governance, with Dozie stating, “Your second term is assured.”
Chief Simon Ogbonna Nnadozie of Adani echoed the praise, highlighting Ezugwu’s impact since assuming office in October 2024. Ezugwu thanked the groups, crediting Governor Peter Mbah’s support, and announced plans to renovate the local government secretariat, aligning with his manifesto’s infrastructure goals (Financial Trust). Attendees included First Lady Mrs. Chijioke Evelyn Kelechi, Chief of Staff Hon. Engr. Emeka Orokoh, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Uzo-Uwani Chairman Chief Benedict Ezugwu.
