Fadojoe Urges Nigerians to Use 2027 Ballot for Change, End Poor Governance

On Monday, September 22, 2025, Faduri Oluwadare Joseph (Fadojoe), a former Labour Party presidential aspirant and leader of the Rescue Movement for New Nigeria, called on Nigerians to leverage the 2027 elections to elect transformative leaders and address decades of poor governance, as stated in a personally signed statement reported by Vanguard and Leadership.ng (Web:0, Web:1). Fadojoe lamented Nigeria’s underperformance in politics, governance, sports, and healthcare despite its abundant resources and talent, noting that the country ranks 120th on the 2024 Global Innovation Index (Web:0, Web:2).

He criticized voter apathy and a culture of seeking short-term gains, which he said perpetuates ineffective leadership, stating, “The leaders we have today are a reflection of who we are as a people” (Web:0). Fadojoe emphasized that faith alone is insufficient without civic engagement, particularly voting, and urged citizens to see the ballot as a tool for change rather than relying on protests (Web:0, Web:3). Advocating unity across ethnic and religious lines, he envisioned a “New Nigeria” driven by fairness and opportunity (Web:0). X posts from @FadojoeRescue (September 22, 2025) echoed the call, while @Naija_Activist reported 67% public frustration with voter turnout, citing 27% participation in 2023 (INEC, 2025) (Post:3). The statement aligns with growing calls for civic action ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 polls (Web:1).
